Premiera spektaklu Why things go wrong w choreografii Sylvy Šafkovej, w wykonaniu duetu tancerzy Michala Heribana i Viktora Konvalinki została stworzona dla Studia Maiselovka. Poprzez taniec współczesny spektakl porusza wyjątkowe zagadnienie (nie)moralnej, stanowiącej etyczne wyzwanie natury ludzkich zachowań, która, choć często pomijana, poważnie wpływa na życie wszystkich wokół nas. Każdy chyba doświadczył sytuacji, w której wszystko do pewnego momentu szło dobrze, lecz ostatecznie wszystko się popsuło. Czasami jest to tylko zbieg okoliczności, ale często można zidentyfikować konkretnego winowajcę. Why things go wrong dotyka tematu zła, jakie wyrządzają tacy ludzie.
Przedstawienie zostało zainspirowane książką Aarona Jamesa Assholes: A Theory:
„Uważamy osobę za „Dupka”, kiedy systematycznie domaga się specjalnych przywilejów w relacjach międzyludzkich, w oparciu o zakorzenione poczucie uprawnienia, uodparniające ją na skargi innych ludzi”.

420PEOPLE to kolektyw artystów, którzy kładą szczególny nacisk na wyjątkową jakość wykonania i profesjonalizm. Ich spektakle są odważne, a jednocześnie pełne humoru. Wnoszą też na scenę szerokie słownictwo tańca współczesnego. Improwizacja jest naturalną częścią twórczości czeskiego kolektywu, podobnie jak nieformalny dialog z widzem w formie dyskusji po spektaklu. Zespół występował we Francji, Hiszpanii, Szwecji, Polsce, Niemczech, Korei Południowej, Rosji, Słowacji, Cyprze, Meksyku, Włoszech, Finlandii, Holandii, Norwegii i Japonii.
Sylva Šafková (ur. 1984) - choreografka i tancerka wykonująca szeroki repertuar choreografii klasycznych, neoklasycznych i współczesnych. Była członkinią La Compagnie M of Maurice Béjart, Prague State Opera, National Theatre, Prague Chamber Ballet i 420PEOPLE. Oprócz występów zajmuje się głównie choreografią: Cumbia, Simple symphony for three, Fuga, Zinin, Ciacona, Záměna. W 2004 roku zdobyła II nagrodę na Międzynarodowym Konkursie Tańca Premio Roma we Włoszech, a w 2007 roku nagrodę dla najlepszego choreografa na Międzynarodowym Konkursie Choreograficznym w Pilznie. Od 2015 roku współpracuje z Dance Company of Nanine Linning. W latach 2016-2017 była kierownikiem prób i asystentką choreografa w Theater Heidelberg. Obecnie jest członkinią zespołu tańca współczesnego 420PEOPLE jako choreografka i reżyserka prób, a także pracuje nad doktoratem na Wydziale Tańca HAMU w Pradze. W ostatnich latach szczególne wrażenie na publiczności wywarła jej choreografia Inspirace, stworzona we współpracy z Orchestra Berg i Archa Theatre. Publiczności podoba się także jej najnowszy spektakl Why things go wrong, który zyskuje na popularności.
Václav Kuneš - choreograf, tancerz, założyciel i dyrektor artystyczny 420PEOPLE. Ukończył Konserwatorium Tańca w Pradze w 1993 roku. Następnie został członkiem zespołu tańca współczesnego Nederlands Dans Theatre. W NDT - przez 11 lat - miał okazję pracować z wybitnymi osobistościami tańca, takimi jak Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Paul Lightfoot, Mats Ek, Nacho Duato, Johan Inger czy Hans van Manen. Pracował także jako asystent Jiříego Kyliána. Od 2007 roku Václav jest dyrektorem artystycznym 420PEOPLE, zespołu tanecznego, który założył wraz z Natašą Novotną. Stworzył liczne choreografie dla 420PEOPLE, które zostały wyprodukowane we współpracy z wieloma teatrami i festiwalami.

The premiere of 420PEOPLE’s performance entitled Why things go wrong, choreographed by Sylva Šafková and performed by the duo of dancers Michal Heriban and Viktor Konvalinka, was created exclusively for Studio Maiselovka. It raises, through contemporary dance, the unique theme of the (un)moral, ethically challenging nature of human behaviour, which, although often overlooked, seriously affects the lives of everyone around us. Everyone has probably experienced a situation where everything was going right until it all went wrong. Sometimes, it is just a coincidence, but a specific culprit can often be identified. The performance addresses the grave subject of the evil that such people cause.
The show was inspired by Aaron James’ book Assholes: A Theory:
„We consider a person to be an ‘Asshole’ if they systematically claim to benefit from privileges in interpersonal relationships by virtue of an ingrained sense of entitlement immunising them against other people’s complaints”.

420PEOPLE is a collective of artists who insist on the values of exceptional quality of performance and professionalism. Their pieces are playful and courageous, bringing on stage a wide vocabulary of contemporary dance. Improvisation is a natural part of their creation and so is informal dialogue with the spectator in the form of after-show discussions. The company has performed in France, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Germany, South Korea, Russia, Slovakia, Cyprus, Mexico, Italy, Finland, Holland, Norway and Japan.
Sylva Šafková (*1984) is a choreographer and dancer performing a wide repertoire of classical, neoclassical and modern choreographies. She has been a member of La Compagnie M of Maurice Béjart, Prague State Opera, National Theatre, Prague Chamber Ballet, and 420PEOPLE. Her main focus besides performing is choreography: Cumbia, Simple symphony for three, Fuga, Zinin, Ciacona, Záměna. In 2004, she won the 2nd prize in the senior category at the International Dance Competition Premio Roma in Italy and in 2007, the award for the best choreographer at the International Choreographic Competition in Pilsen. Since 2015, she has collaborated with the Dance Company of Nanine Linning. From 2016 to 2017, she was a rehearsal director and assistant choreographer at Theater Heidelberg. She is currently a member of the contemporary dance company 420PEOPLE as a choreographer and rehearsal director and is pursuing her PhD at the Department of Dance at HAMU. In recent years, the professional public has been particularly impressed by her choreography Inspirace, created in collaboration with Orchestra Berg and Archa Theatre. The audience also enjoys her latest performance, Why things go wrong, which is gaining popularity.
Václav Kuneš - choreographer, dancer and founder & artistic director of 420PEOPLE. Václav graduated from the Dance Conservatory in Prague in 1993. He then became a member of the Nederlands Dans Theater contemporary dance company; having stayed with NDT for 11 years, he had an opportunity to work with some prominent dance personalities, such as Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Paul Lightfoot, Mats Ek, Nacho Duato, Johan Inger, or Hans van Manen. He also worked as an assistant to J. Kylián. Since 2007, Václav has been the artistic director of 420PEOPLE, the dance company he founded together with Nataša Novotná. He has created numerous choreographies for 420PEOPLE that have been co-produced by many theatres and festivals.
